A Static-Worker has little or no opportunity to work remotely as they need to carry out their work at a specific force premises, this could be for a number of reasons including the location of equipment. 
This role will require the post holder to travel to alternative locations on an ad hoc basis to undertake the role, travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with force policy.

Starts at £23,121 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £27,351 per annum

The above salary is based on a full time (37 hour) salary. If you are successful in a part time role this will be pro-rata'd to reflect your working hours.

Please note: Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

To represent Dorset Police as a focal point of contact, receiving personal and telephone enquiries and processing, finalising or redirecting those enquiries.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide the first point of contact for members of the public calling at the Police Station.

Respond to all incoming telephone enquiries, including messages left on the mailbox system.

Interrogation of the Force Management Information System, including NICHE / STORM, Property Systems and the Police National Computer (PNC).

Receive, send and return Lost, Found and evidential or seized property.

Record reported crimes and road traffic collisions by entering details onto the NICHE / STORM recording systems.

Examination of driving documents, completion of HORT 2 statements, paperwork in relation to seized vehicles under Section 165 and Prohibition Orders.

Acting as the front line of policing and being responsible for receiving non-emergency calls, emails and online contact from members of the public. Your role will be ensuring the most appropriate help and support is established, ensuring you handle every call with empathy, whilst remaining calm when dealing with potentially sensitive and upsetting calls.

Terms and conditions:

  • The successful candidate would be required to travel to either Bournemouth Contact Centre (Bournemouth Police Station) or the Force Command Centre (Winfrith) for their initial classroom training and contact officer mentoring period. Travelling time to Winfrith or Bournemouth will be paid and a pool vehicle will be provided (or mileage claimed)
  • Working Hours - The successful candidate will be working the following days: Tuesday - Saturday, 0900-1700hrs including 36 min meal break. Please be advised that during your initial training period you will be required to work Monday - Friday after which you will work the set working pattern of Tuesday - Saturday as shown above.
