A Hybrid Worker is an employee whose role can be performed remotely from a variety of alternative locations including force premises, partner organisation premises or a member of staff's home. 

Job description

Your main responsibilities will be to oversee the management of strategic and operational risk at senior level.
You will support domestic and international law enforcement for the purpose of improving the response to all crime with an international element.
This will require you to work alongside the NPCC International Portfolio, to deliver their aims and objectives, whilst supporting the NCA to deliver on threat specific Strategic Action Plans.

A key element of your role will be to represent the Joint International Crime Centre (JICC) when engaging with partner agencies and key stakeholders such as the Home Office, FCDO, CPS and international partners.

You will be responsible for leading change throughout the JICC and wider NCA international.

You will play an integral part in the continued development of the JICC by improving how we deliver existing services, identifying efficiencies and managing risk. This will include assessing additional functions that the JICC may need to create or adopt in future. 

Positions available & Eligibility: 2 – based in London or Warrington. Please specify your preferred location

This role is a closed competition and to apply you need to be:

  • A police officer at the rank of Chief Inspector on a lateral basis
  • A police officer at the rank of Inspector, currently on a select list for promotion to Chief Inspector, on Temporary Promotion, and with relevant experience to the role.
  • Police staff laterally or on temporary promotion.

Essential Criteria: 

  • A serving police officer/police staff as detailed in the eligibility criteria.
  • A valid Passport and an acceptance you may need to travel overseas as part of your role.
  • Appropriate line manager and senior officer support is required.

Person specification

The JICC Senior Manager responsibilities for the unit will include:

  • Influencing and delivering national policy, operational guidance and Authorised Professional Practice,  in relation to international crime.
  • Delivering co-ordinated communication campaigns to drive understanding of changes to international law enforcement tools and crime threats.
  • Delivering key messages around opportunities and risk within the law enforcement environment.
  • Lead multifunctional teams that handle high volume, high risk enquiries for UK and international policing and wider law enforcement.
  • Oversee operational intelligence activity, ensuring that resources are deployed proportionately, ethically and in accordance with legislation and policy.
  • Oversee performance, governance and assurance mechanisms related to the JICC, NPCC, International, NCA and HMG.
  • Lead, manage and deliver organisational change including the integration of the JICC into the wider NCA International Department.
  • Identify, manage, mitigate and prioritise risk.
  • Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key strategic partners.
  • Liaise with and advise key stakeholders and law enforcement partners within the UK and abroad.
  • Create an inclusive and innovative culture which embraces new ways of working to deliver operational success.
  • Support the Head of the JICC by undertaking any additional duties required to support the business.
