The role provides a 24/7 ICT Support Service requiring the post-holder to participate in an on-call (Stand-by) rota when deemed proficient to do so by the Head of ICT Services. The requirement is currently* one week in every six although this may become more or less frequent depending on future ICT operational requirements. Reasonable notice will be given of any future changes to the rota. Reasonable overtime working will also be required outside of normal office hours as a result of call-outs whilst on-call, or due to planned maintenance work at nights and weekends/bank holidays that the post-holder will be required to support. Any overtime worked will be paid at the appropriate rate. An allowance, currently* £30.80, is payable for each period of stand-by working (approximately £277.20 for each stand-by week, to include double payment for Saturday and Sunday working. Double payment is also applicable on bank holidays). Starts at £34,968 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £39,036 per annum

The above salary is based on a full time (37 hour) salary. If you are successful in a part time role this will be pro-rata'd to reflect your working hours.

The Alliance ICT department provide technology services to Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police. From the radios, cameras and phones that our officers and staff wear; to the complex systems that enable our control rooms to respond to 999 and 101 calls; and everything in-between that our 10,000 employees and volunteers rely upon to support our communities.

Our forces operate from over 150 police stations; and premises shared with partner organisations such as councils, fire and health; to cover any location from the Isles of Scilly to the New Forest border.

As an Analyst in the Networks team you will be helping to develop and support our WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi services. Providing a high level of service, delivering good value for money and maintaining security standards.

For this role, your base will be Winfrith and your time will be spent across our offices in Dorset, there will also be the occasional requirement to visit our offices in Exeter. There will be opportunities to occasionally work from home when an on-site presence is not required.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for ICT and a good understanding of networking fundamentals to help us to support and improve policing in the South West.

Networking is at the heart of any business, and it's an exciting and changing sector.

Technologies we currently utilise include CISCO and DELL. We are also keen to exploit newer technology such as Zero Trust Networks & SD-WAN.
