The above salary is based on a full time (37 hour) salary. If you are successful in a part time role this will be pro-rata'd to reflect your working hours.

To work with a team of performance and strategic analysts to research, monitor, analyse and report on Strategic issues with a focus on the provision of documents
that make practical recommendations for action to inform decision making and drive change. In particular to:

  • Provide impartial evidence-based insight and context on all aspects of crime/disorder, community safety priorities and emerging issues in order to support action and recommend strategic priorities through the provision of effective analysis, to support both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage organisational priorities through carrying out primary research and providing accurate and timely reporting thus enabling reduction in threat, risk and harm in our communities by providing full analysis, identifying good practice and remedies and recommendations to influence decision-making at Force, geographic and functional levels, as well as with partners.
  • Environmental scanning across a range of political and societal shifts in order to inform effective strategic documents.
  • Use structured methods for evaluating data, reports and information provided by the department. This includes quality assuring documents as diverse as a) draft responses to Freedom of Information requests (for external customers/members of public) and b) full analytical reports. A major element of quality assurance is to ensure that any potential consequences of publication are highlighted, allowing an appropriate and prepared response.
  • Provide specialist advice and knowledge on strategic issues and
    analytical techniques, both qualitative and quantitative.
