Citizens in Policing Administrator

We are welcoming applications for the role of Citizens in Policing Administrator with Devon & Cornwall Police based at the following location(s): Police Headquarters, Exeter 

Salary: Grade 3 - Starts at £23,556 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £24,462 per annum 
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker -  Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.
Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
Allowances: This role attracts no allowances.

We are looking for a skilled administrator to join our Citizens in Policing team.

The Citizens in Policing team support our volunteers and the wider policing family which includes Special Constables, Police Support Volunteers, Volunteer Police Cadets, and the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme.

As a Citizens in Policing Administrator, you will provide comprehensive administrative support for the team and ensuring our volunteers get the best possible service.

This is a busy role that requires you to be organised and possess excellent communication skills. 

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all incoming contacts and correspondence in the Citizens in Policing inbox, responding or redirecting as appropriate.
  • Order, maintain and track equipment, uniform and resources for the team.
  • Maintain, create and update records on a variety of systems and computerised databases.
  • Provide assistance on Dutysheet to Police Support Volunteers and Special Constables
  • Circulates information and messages to Police Support Volunteers and Special Constables via email and Dutysheet
  • Undertake all necessary administrative tasks for CiP events e.g. booking venues, refreshments, managing attendance registers.
  • To arrange meetings and undertaken associated administrative tasks such as room bookings, note taking and maintaining action logs.

 Skills and Experience required:

  • Skilled computer user with excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages and good speed and accuracy when typing documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage and respond to queries from a range of different customers.
  • Be able to work to deadlines and meet competing demands.

Selection Stage: 

The selection for this role will consist of Shortlisting, Interview.

Applications will be anonymised and then shortlisted by the shortlisting panel. Following the shortlisting you will be notified of the recruitment decision via email along with feedback on your application. 

If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the behaviours outlined within the role profile. The interview process is due to take place week commencing 12 February 2024.

Pre-requisites:
