DBS Vetting Officer
The above salary is based on a full time (37 hour) salary. If you are successful in a part time role this will be pro-rata'd to reflect your working hours.
Please note: Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

To support the protection of children and vulnerable adults by carrying out enquiries on behalf of the Disclosure & Barring Service into the background of persons wishing to work with such groups. In particular to:
- Undertake interrogation of a number of databases and other sources of information and intelligence in response to requests from DBS
- Using the national Quality Assurance Framework and additional Force mechanisms, complete the process of checking to determine the suitability of the individual to undertake work with the identified vulnerable groups and, where appropriate, flagging any concerns in line with Force policy and working practices.
- To deal with queries from DBS applicants, Officers and staff, to provide guidance as appropriate.
