Quality Officer (FCN)

We are welcoming applications for the role of Quality Officer (FCN) with Dorset Police based at the following location(s): Hybrid working available, Other Homeworking with an agile working approach. There will be a requirement for travel and working away from home. 

Salary: Scale H - Starts at £41,928 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £46,674 per annum 
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon & Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same Scale.

Type of working arrangement: Home worker -  A Home-Worker has their home as their formal place of work and will normally work at home for their full contracted hours of work. 
Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
Allowances: This role attracts no allowances.

At the heart of the NPCC Forensics Portfolio is a desire to work together nationally to deliver high quality, specialist forensic capabilities with centralised support to share knowledge and improve resilience, efficiency, quality and effectiveness. This is the aim of the Forensic Capability Network (FCN).

The FCN Quality Officer roles will be central to supporting policing by developing the internal FCN QMS and by leading a national approach to support policing to meet regulatory requirements and improving quality standards within UK Forensics.  This a national role and will include influencing and supporting forensic experts across the policing community to deliver an effective standardised approach to Forensic Science Regulator’s compliance and accreditation.

The postholder will provide advice, knowledge and support to FCN colleagues, national expert networks, Force champions, Forensic Leaders and the wider forensic community.  This position will also have regular contact with external stakeholders such as the Forensic Science Regulator, UKAS, and Forensic Service Providers.  They may chair national and regional meetings.

Annual Leave Entitlement:

Selection Stage: 

The selection for this role will consist of Shortlisting, Interview.

Applications will be anonymised and then shortlisted by the shortlisting panel.  Following the shortlisting you will be notified of the recruitment decision via email along with feedback on your application. 

If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the essential criteria outlined within the job description. The interview process is due to take place week commencing 11 March 2024.
